The Communication and Marketing Department develops internal and external communications, assists in managing citizen participation initiatives, and handles marketing and advertising for City projects and initiatives. 

The Communication and Marketing Department manages:

  • PortlandTx.gov, the City’s website
  • Social media
  • The newsletter inserted in utility bills
  • Live and archived video content and other programming for the City’s Government Access Channel, Time Warner/Spectrum Channel 82-20
  • Publication of the weekly City E-News
  • City’s biennial Citizen Satisfaction Survey
  • Media relations for most departments
  • Marketing and promotion of City events and venues
  • Tourism marketing
