Racial Profiling Policy

The Portland Police Department strives to provide law enforcement to our community with due regard to the racial, cultural or other inherent differences of those we serve. It is the policy and practice of this agency to provide law enforcement services and to enforce the law equally and fairly without discrimination toward any individual(s) or group.

Race, ethnicity or nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, economic status, age, cultural group, disability, or affiliation with any other similar identifiable group shall not be utilized as the basis for providing differing levels of law enforcement service or the enforcement of the law (Texas Code of Criminal Procedures Art. 2.132).
